Verizon Product Management Analyst - IoT Smart Communities in Watertown, New York


The Product Management Analyst supports the Product Manager with responsibility for assigned product/solution. Span could include initial product use case and market development, expeditiously working through the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Lean Lifecycle Management (LLM) process all the way to guiding initial pilot deployments and managing full commercial scale. This position will partner with various teams to perform these functions, supporting the Product Manager and the launch and scale of their assigned product/solution.

Key Responsibilities

Assist Product Managers with critical Product Management Functions:

  • Develop the product roadmap

  • Determine gaps in existing capabilities within Verizon and work with the Consortia Development teams to source appropriate vendors to fill those gaps.

  • Build solution business requirements documentation and obtain approvals through the Agile process or the PLM process.

  • Partner closely with the Technical Solution Manager for their creation of the Technical Requirements Documents, and stay connected through them for the entire development, testing, and quality control cycle.

  • Partner closely with the Solution Specialist on market creation activities to find the initial pilots with the sales enablement organization in addition to driving the success of the solution Proof of Concept and Pilot Engagements

  • Develop and maintain expertise in the Smart Cities industry and identify industry trends.

  • Assist with the product development process including preparation for the gate process to build and bring new products to market.

  • Effectively support product managers with technical presentations and demonstrations.

  • Provide feedback to PM throughout the development and delivery process.

  • Assist in the evaluation of new solutions for integration into the Smart Communities & Venues Roadmap/Strategy.

  • Support efforts to launch Smart Communities & Venues products globally and launch alternative channel strategies

  • Develops resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity. Analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

  • Analyze complex information and provide an executive overview to management


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Information Systems or Engineering preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Prior experience delivering complex M2M solutions.

  • Vertical market expertise in assigned vertical.

  • Experience in managing multiple initiatives with competing priorities simultaneously

  • Must possess financial management skills needed for forecasting, pricing and margin analysis.

  • Strong presentation building skills using tools such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create excellent working relationships with diverse teams and job functions throughout the organization.

  • Basic knowledge of the product management lifecycle

  • Solid experience in IoT technology.
